My Personal Blog page: starts august 24 2015 My plans to emigrate to Australia in 2016 At the age of then 65 I am now planning my emigration to this wonderful island/continent. I have already many relatives there living spread over many states in Australia. According to a wikipedia page : Australia officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is an Ocean country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the world’s sixth-largest country by total area. Neighbouring countries include Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and East Timor to the north; the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu to the north-east; and New Zealand to the south-east. For at least 40,000 years before the first British settlement in the late 18th century, Australia was inhabited by indigenous Australians, who spoke languages grouped into roughly 250 language groups. After the European discovery of the continent by Dutch explorers in 1606, Australia’s eastern half was claimed by Great Britain in 1770 and initially settled through penal transportation to the colony of New South Wales from 26 January 1788. The population grew steadily in subsequent decades; the continent was explored and an additional five self-governing crown colonies were established. On 1 January 1901, the six colonies federated, forming the Commonwealth of Australia. Since Federation, Australia has maintained a stable liberal democratic political system that functions as a federal parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy comprising six states and several territories. The population of 23.6 million is highly urbanised and heavily concentrated in the eastern states and on the coast. Australia is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the world’s 12th-largest economy. In 2014 Australia had the world’s fifth-highest per capita income. Australia’s military expenditure is the world’s 13th-largest. With the second-highest human development index globally, Australia ranks highly in many international comparisons of national performance, such as quality of life, health, education, economic freedom, and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. Australia is a member of the United Nations, G20, Commonwealth of Nations, ANZUS, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Trade Organisation, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, and the Pacific Islands Forum. more you can read here Australia. I have the feeling that things get more and more complicated because my partner is blocking the process. Which I can understand from her point of view. I hope it does not get ugly. I begin looking to the near end and my journey to that land. I have to make some preparations and make a to do list and check them off when completed. Some time ago we arranged the divorce at a lawyer in town and they got it pretty good and quickly. the 30th of September we got the notice from the lawyer and later on the 19th of October it was done. Today 7th of December 2015 I am divorced at 30th of October 2015. We still live together but it is getting awkward. So I am trying to find a place for myself be it here in the town I live in or elsewhere. I got a place to view for rent in Vlaardingen but that did not suit my wishes completely. So I try to find one in Spijkenisse. A flat (evenly floored) with two bedrooms. I need some space for my hobby and still be able to let some one sleep over. The financial paperwork is also being nearly ready and my retirement-funds are up and informed. So now it is all done and ready.
